TV Show Feature: Hercules: The Legendary Journeys

Hercules: The Legendary Journeys is a tv series produced from 1995 to 1999 and was very loosely based on the tales of the classical Greek culture hero Heracles (Hercules was his Roman analogue). The show became one of the highest rated syndicated shows in television history.

Filmed in New Zealand and United States, the series ran for six seasons and was set in a fantasy version of ancient Greece not precisely located in historical time. Kevin Sorbo stars as Hercules and Michael Hurst plays his sidekick Iolaus. Robert Trebor, who plays Salmoneus, often rotates with Iolaus as Hercules' other sidekick.

Typical plot lines involve Hercules and Iolaus (or Salmoneus) saving rustic villagers from monsters, evil warlords, or the often selfish whims of the gods. The show also has a mixture of Oriental, Egyptian, and Medieval elements in various episodes.

Celebrity Feature: Emily Osment

You adore Lilly Truscott as the fun and loving bestfriend of teen popstar, Hannah Montana/Miley Stewart. And her character is played by non-other than the cute Emily Osment. And yes, she is the younger sister of Academy Award-nominated actor Haley Joel Osment of the blockbuster hit film, The Sixth Sense. She first started appearing in commercials in 1998 and made her acting debut in the 1999 film The Secret Life of Girls.

In 2002, Emily appeared in Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams in which she portrayed the character of Gerti Giggles. In 2003, she reprised her role in the third and final part of the trilogy, Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over. The films were successful and led to her winning the "Young Artist Award" for Best performance in a feature film.

The young star's biggest television break came when she landed the role of Lilly in in the Disney Channel tv series, Hannah Montana. The show, which debuted on March 24, 2006, scored record ratings for Disney Channel with a viewership of 5.4 million viewers, a response beyond their wildest expectations. This has established Emily as one of the hottest young actresses of today's generation. She also recorded a song entitled "I Don't Think About It" which got to #1 on the Radio Disney Top 30 of the Week.
